Sobre este trabalho

During the employer’s winter calving period, workers will monitor pregnant cows and heifers for signs of approaching labor and calving; frequently observe cows and heifers during the calving process; identify animals requiring assistance; and assist with difficult, prolonged, or abnormal births when necessary. Workers will move cows and heifers to designated calving areas as needed for the calving process and monitor animals before, during, and immediately following calving. Workers will provide immediate care to newborn calves following birth, including cleaning and drying calves, ensuring calves nurse properly, observing calves for signs of weakness, illness, injury, or distress, and reporting problems requiring further attention. Workers will monitor cows following calving for signs of complications or other conditions requiring attention and provide feed, water, and supplemental forage to cows and heifers during the immediate post-calving period in accordance with the employer’s winter calving feeding program. Workers will observe recently calved cows and newborn calves during feeding and care activities and report changes in condition, appetite, behavior, or health. Workers will assist with handling, moving, and restraining cows, heifers, and newborn calves when necessary to perform calving, post-calving, and newborn calf-care activities. Workers will maintain the designated calving areas and areas used for immediate newborn calf care in suitable condition for the winter calving operation and will perform other agricultural livestock duties directly related to the employer’s winter calving and immediate post-calving activities as directed by the employer. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
